LASER HAIR REDUCTION

Achieving smooth, stubble-free skin is a common desire. While methods like waxing, threading, shaving, and tweezing offer temporary results, laser hair removal in Jaipur provides a more permanent solution. Say goodbye to messy, repetitive techniques; opt for less maintenance and longer periods of hair-free skin with laser removal, making it a superior choice.

What is laser hair reduction?

Laser hair reduction targets hair pigment (melanin) to remove hair without harming the surrounding skin. In India, diode and long pulsed Nd:YAG lasers are ideal based on skin and hair color. Diode lasers are faster and more effective than Nd:YAG, offering safe, quick, and long-lasting results. They are suitable for various areas, including sensitive ones like ears, nose, nipples, and the bikini area.

How does Laser hair reduction (LHR) work?

Laser energy penetrates the skin, targeting only the color of hair to disrupt its growth. This process is precise, affecting only the hair without harming surrounding structures. Darker hair (with more melanin) responds faster to laser treatment. The laser damages hair follicles, leading to delayed growth and thinner hair. Because hair growth occurs in phases, laser hair removal (LHR) requires multiple sessions for optimal results. Regular treatments reduce hair volume and thickness significantly, with remaining hair becoming very fine and barely visible even from a distance of 2 feet. Maintenance sessions are needed for these finer hairs at longer intervals.

What is required before laser hair reduction treatment?

Patient selection for laser hair reduction involves assessing skin and hair conditions to determine appropriate laser parameters. Clinical details such as hormonal disorders like PCOD or CAH, family history of excess hair, or previous herpes outbreaks in the treated area are crucial. Affordability is also considered due to the need for at least 6 regular sessions and maintenance sessions annually.

Blood investigations and pelvic sonography are necessary for females with a history indicating hormonal disorders before beginning laser treatment. Abnormal hormone levels may necessitate medical treatment before starting laser hair reduction.

What happens during laser hair reduction treatment?

The session begins with a brief consultation, followed by taking photographs and obtaining consent. Prior to the procedure, hair will be shaved from the treatment area, and a 5-10 minute icing will be applied to the treatment and surrounding areas. Braces should be removed before facial hair removal.

Our specially designed laser ensures maximum comfort without compromising treatment quality. It keeps your skin cool throughout the procedure, with most patients experiencing only a tolerable burning or stinging sensation. Immediately after the laser session, you may notice slight redness, follicular bumps, and mild swelling in the treated area, which typically resolve within 2-3 hours. Post-treatment, a 10-15 minute icing will be applied to the treatment and surrounding areas.

Is there any precaution I need to take before and after the procedure?

Laser hair removal targets hair follicles for destruction, so it's crucial to avoid waxing, tweezing, and electrolysis for 2-4 weeks before and until all sessions are complete. Avoid sun exposure or apply sunscreen at least 2 weeks before treatment. After treatment, avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for 7 days, using prescribed sunscreen for 4 weeks. Adjust skincare products, especially exfoliants, 2-3 days before and after laser. Treated hair falls out in 4-7 days, leading to smoother skin for the next session upon regrowth.

How many sessions will I require to permanently remove hair?

The laser targets follicles in the growth phase. Because follicles can enter this phase post-treatment, multiple sessions are needed for best results. Typically, 6 sessions are needed at our clinic, but patients with hormonal disorders may require more.

How permanent is laser hair removal?

After completing all suggested sessions, some hair may regrow, but they will be very thin and sparse, hardly visible from a distance of 2 feet. Occasional maintenance sessions (2-3 per year) may be necessary in the future. Results vary based on individual factors like skin and hair color, hair density, hormonal fluctuations, and medication usage. Laser hair removal isn't always permanent; while complete treatment can lead to long-term hair reduction with minimal maintenance, patients should not expect permanent removal.

What are side effects of laser hair removal ?

Laser hair reduction has no side effects when performed by trained professionals with standard laser equipment. Temporary skin changes like mild redness and swelling typically resolve on their own within 3-4 hours. Folliculitis, caused by poor hygiene in the treated area, is self-limiting and resolves in 3-5 days. Superficial hair may char and form a crust, which falls off naturally in 1-2 days. Darker skin may experience temporary pigmentary changes that fade over time.
